ABSTRACT
  
Unemployment in Our Society”.  Unemployment is just a common household word in Our Society.  Many individual today are unemployed not because they are not fit for any job or that they lack the knowledge, the   answer to this problem is unemployment.  Many able-bodied young men and women remains unemployed after wasting a good number of years in school.  A waste in the sense that after what seems like size years in school come out just to find yourself doing nothing to the extent of living without hope. According to Oxford advanced dictionary, unemployment is defined as the amount of unused labour.   However, since both government and private body have failed to provide a lasting solution to unemployment menace, co-operative becomes another alternative solution of necessity in order to make a concise generalization of cooperative solution in Aba-North will be  use to conduct this research.  Literature reviews will be base on what the reviews of their other writers. The use of questionnaire and interview will use to get data since the study will be an attitudinal survey structure.  The research will also personal observation where method used by researcher to obtain data in order to determine and evaluate co-operative and it role in reducing unemployment and to recommend way of improving it activities in our economy.  The researcher will use grouping tabulation (pie chart and frequency, percentage).  This research will tend to observe while  numerous problems have hamper the operation and existence of cooperative.  And while to some extend have not made any removable contribution in elevating employment level.  Recommendations will be made as regards to improve their activities.
