This research work was carried out to determine the effects of three organic fertilizers namely: cattle dung, poultry droppings and pig excreta on the growth of fingerlings of clarias gariepinus. A total of 120 fingerlings of average length (15.3+2.10) cm and weight (34.2+8.73)g were used for the study.

ABSTRACT Three different chemicals: fonnalin, hydrogen peroxide and potassium permanganate were used for intermittent prophylactic treatment of Clarias gariepinus fingerlings (2.43±0.04) for 10 weeks. The experiment was made up of four treatments: Tl (Control), T2 (Potassium permanganate at 2ppm concentration), T3 (Hydrogen peroxide at 1600ppm... Continue Reading

ABSTRACT This study examined the total replacement of fishmeal (FM) with poultry hatchery waste meal (PHWM) in practical diets for African catfish (Clarias gariepinus). Five iso-nitrogenous diets containing levels Diet1, 0% (control); Diet 2, 25%; Diet 3, 50%; Diet 4, 75% and Diet 5, 100% of PHWM as a replacement for FM were fed to three replicate... ABSTRACT An 8 weeks feeding trial of different percentage inclusion of Thevetia peruviana seed meal in the diet of Clarias gariepinus was conducted. The experimental diets were Ctr0TSM, 5TSM, 10TSM 15TSM and 20TSM percentage replacement of plant protein in the control diet. The experimental design is a complete randomize design in which there... ABSTRACT The effects of Moringa o/eifera seed meal (MSM) on the growth performance and haematological indices of Clarias gariepinus fingerlings were investigated for a period of eight (8) weeks. Five iso-nitrogenous (40% crude protein) diets were fonnulated under completely randomized experiment in which MSM replaced fish meal (FM) at 0% (Tl), 25%... Continue Reading
