ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to determine and assess challenges of cooperative extension service in Neni; causes and prospects (a case study of selected cooperative societies in Neni Anaocha L.G.A 2012-2013). In the cause of this study, questionnaires were administered and review of existing literature in field was also carried out. In the findings, it shows that so many cooperatives in Neni Anaocha has challenges and causes in cooperative extension service. In pursuance of this objectives, 10 research questions were asked primary and secondary data source were employed. Data generated using appropriate statistics tools. The study reveals the following chapter and content from chapter one to five shows the following: Background of the study, literature review, research design and methodology, presentation, analysis and interpretation of data and summary of findings, recommendation and conclusion. The study also reveals the following major findings; Lack of finance, literacy by cooperative members, apathy along cooperators, shortage of qualified manpower, inadequate incentives and frequent changes of  government policies as problems of cooperative extension service in the study area. Based on the study made by the researcher eight recommendations on how best to improve or prevent the causes of cooperative extension services in the study area were made.
