This Report describes the Design and Implementation of a I)atabase Management System (DBMS) for Kim Town Council a Local Government found in Wakiso I)istrict. Uganda The System was developed to reduce the problems associated with the traditional file based management system in the ‘town Council . using Microsoft Access and Visual Basic 6.0. It undensent the different stages of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) such as feasibility study. system design. testing and implementation. It comprises ofthe database of all the Town Council records for Clients. Staff and Assets. Reports can be generated for each of the records. Its Security is ensured by use of password protection.

The System’s Results demonstrate that it meets Kim Town Council’s database needs and that such problems like data redundancy are reduced. in effect saving a lot of the Local Government’s resources.
