ABSTRACT This study was about domestic violence and performance of girl education in Alebtong district. The study was based in Apala sub county. The objective of the study were to: examine the effect of pove1ty on children education, assess how dnmkard ness affect perfonnance of girl child education and to find out the extent to which un faithfulness affect girl girl education. It was discovered that that the drunkardness of the parents affects girl child education in the sense that Parents who go drinking spend all the money meant for education of their children especially girls. Poverty affects girl child education in the sense that Lack of food in the home forces children especially girls to go fam1ing. The study recommended that the govennnent should Accelerate the law refonn process to hannonize domestic legislation with the constitutional principles related to nondiscrimination and equality between women and men; undertake the speedy enactment of the Domestic Relations Bill and the sexual offences Bill; introduce public education and legal literacy campaigns relating to the convention and the international and national commitments on the elimination and discrimination against women.
