ABSTRACT Assessment of the contribution of alcohol consumption and risky sexual behaviors on Kasensero landing site Rakai district. The research was done in April 2017 for two weeks and it was carried out in the Kasensero landing site that is found in Kyebe County in the Rakai district. This research was basically done to determine the relevant solutions and recommendations that can be put in place to reduce alcohol consumption and its negative effects on the village. This research, still, was done to determine the relationship between alcohol consumption and risky sexual behaviors at the Kasensero landing site. A cross-sectional method was used and data was collected using questionnaires, interview guides, and FGDs. Respondents could give their information according to the questions posed to them as indicated in the appendices. The data collected, indicated that a bigger percentage of 56% among the 476 respondents that were chosen in Kasensero landing site take alcohol. Some of the respondents agreed that alcohol consumption—to some extent, contributes to HIV/AIDS transmission and some of them never supported it though they did not have genuine reasons as to whether they agree or do not agree. Finally, alcohol consumption was categorized among one of the factors that accelerate HIV/AIDS transmission but to a smaller extent. In addition, alcohol consumption should be reduced b~’ creating more job opportunities that would help all youths to get engaged in any certain activity to reduce unemployment and peer influence among yOuths since the highest percentage of alcohol consumers and experience risky s~xual behaviors are youths.
